In September 2001, co-founded a med-tech start up originally called Living Independently, LLC, which developed the QuietCare Systems device that enabled seniors to live on their own with greater safety and allowed for their caregivers peace of mind to check in on them from a distance. The team raised $27.4 million in funding; Bohner raised $17.4 million, solo. Led successful rollout in New Jersey into both private homes and assisted living facilities. In 2009, QuietCare Systems sold to GE Healthcare/Intel, a $500 million joint venture between the parent companies, in a cash and stock transaction.
